Music Monday

Music Monday: Alive by: Melissa O’Neil

Hi guys, happy Monday! I’m here with another Music Monday. This meme was created by Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek.

So, a few weeks ago I mentioned I wanted to do a bit of a throwback on my Music Mondays and so here is the first. Melissa O’Neil won Canadian Idol back in 2005, and as I Googled her I’m like ‘well what is she doing now’. As it turns out, aside from being the first female to win Canadian Idol, she’s now an actress on The Rookie, so good for her. I hear that show has been a massive hit.

O’Neil is from Calgary, Alberta… not very far from her co-star Mr. Nathan Fillion who’s from Edmonton.

Lyrics:

Stuck in a world, no longer turning
Always the girl, waiting for something
Too many days, walking around sleeping
Open my eyes, I’m tired of dreaming
I want to run with a reckless emotion
Find out if love is the size of an ocean
Even if I crash down and burn out
At least I’m gonna know what it’s like
To feel alive
Hey yeah, hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Sun on my face, lights of the city
Maybe in love, or just learning to be
On my two feet, I can only imagine
I’ll say the words and believe it’ll happen
I want to run with a reckless emotion
Find out if love is the size of an ocean
Even if I crash down and burn out
At least I’m gonna know what it’s like
To feel alive
They think they know me
But how can they know me
I’m getting to know myself
I’m finally ready to be somebody
With a story to tell
I want to run with a reckless emotion
Find out if love is the size of an ocean
Even if I crash down and burn out
At least I’m gonna know what it’s like
I want to feel til my heart rips right open
I want to blaze like a fire that’s growing
Even if I crash down and burn out
At lease I’m gonna know what it’s like
To feel alive
Oh, I feel alive
