Review: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Hello! Happy December! I can’t believe we’re at the end of 2016! Where did the year go? Welcome to throwback Thursday! Today I will be going back to look at John Boyne’s novel The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

Read: October 2012
Rating: 4 Stars

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by: John Boyne: A story about the Holocaust, though this story wasn’t as sad as it could have been. The story being told in the perspective of a child who doesn’t know very much, it makes everything seem a little bit better then what it truly was. Young Bruno is forced to move away to a placed called “Out-With” where he has no friends and doesn’t understand the people in their striped pajamas. It isn’t until he meets his new friend Shmuel that he begins to understand more, but not enough before it’s too late. It’s a good story for children to read.

  1. Having throwback reviews is such a clever idea! And I completely agree with you about this book – it was so heartbreaking in its simplicity. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous review! ❤
